For readers using the hard-copy version of the textbook, this Augmented Reality app provides access to extra online resources that accompany the material in the textbook. Using the "scan" function in the app, you can access URL links to websites about sustainable tourism, as well as podcasts and videos designed to bring the text to life and further contextualise what you are learning about sustainable tourism. Look for the "footprint" AR icons found throughout the pages of the textbook, which each link to additional content, as well as "question mark" AR icons in each chapter that give you access to the multiple choice questions that test your understanding of what you have read in each chapter.
To use the app, simply open the scan function, and hover your smart device above the "footprint" or "question mark" AR icons. This will trigger the app to access the extra material for you. You will need internet access to open some (but not all) of the additional content. Once you have opened the Main AR Scanner in the app, find AR icons in the textbook – once codes are found, scan with AR camera, and you will open the additional content.
Pulling the phone away from the QR code will reset the camera. Allow a couple of seconds to reset AR Tracker if codes become stuck and scan new codes. The "return" button will take you back to the landing page of the app
